Is your website ready for Mobile?

May 1, 2012 By Benjamin Benkert Leave a Comment

With the explosion of tablet devices and smart phones, web designers have found new challenges in delivering mobile content. You now need to consider these devices when designing a website.

One of the ways we’ve learned to adapt to the new era of web browsing is with responsive web design. Using a responsive layout allows your website to look great on just about every size screen. Ethan Marcotte has written a great book called Responsive Web Design. It is worth checking out.

Because of the expected growth in mobile device use, I have decided to continue to learn more about responsive designs and use them myself on this site and on future designs for my clients. It is my belief that mobile ready websites will have a competitive edge. In the years to come, it will be standard to use mobile design practices on all websites.

I’m sure by now you have noticed more people using tablets and smart phones to view mobile content. The face of the internet is changing and it is changing fast. If you do not already have a mobile ready website, you will need one soon.
